WHAT «LEGAL
FRONT 24/02» IS
An NGO «24 FEBRUARY» is a non-governmental public organisation (NGO) established in October 2022 by citizens of Ukraine — volunteers and activists who participated in public activities for the past 10 years.
The main purpose of the creation of the NGO «24 FEBRUARY» — to initiate a class action lawsuit in the interest of victims who joined the organisation. This is the quickest, most efficient, and effective mechanism to restore the rights and to compensate for the damage caused. According to Ukrainian legislation and legal practice. Only a public organisation specially created for this purpose, can initiate a class action lawsuit.
The NGO «24 FEBRUARY» in collaboration with the GRECO Law Company, the only company in Ukraine specialising in class action lawsuits, with the involvement of leading foreign lawyers, have created and implemented the project «Legal Front 24/02». Because of this collaboration, victims could obtain compensation at the expense of Russian oligarchs, propagandists, state corporations and companies, as well as international companies that have not withdrawn from the Russian market after the invasion and continue to finance it with taxes.
Membership in an NGO is voluntary and individual. To join the NGO «24 FEBRUARY», an affected person should fill in a questionnaire, an application for membership, his/her own personal experience and give consent to process personal data. Copies of identity documents to confirm the above-mentioned information should be attached.
By joining a class action lawsuit, you do not lose your right to receive compensation from the state. «Legal Front 24/02» is an alternative effective tool for obtaining compensation.
The aim of «Legal Front 24/02» —to not just obtain a court mandate for compensation, but to ensure that it is enforced. This is the only way to restore justice. We realise that it is virtually impossible to recover direct damages from the Russian Federation in court. As a state, it enjoys judicial immunity and immunity against the enforcement of a court decision of another country. The attack on Ukraine was financed by Russian oligarchs, propagandists, state corporations and companies, as well as international companies that did not withdraw from the Russian market after the invasion and continue to finance it. All of them shall be future defendants. Most of them are already under sanctions and their assets are frozen in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. It will be much easier to channel those assets to compensate the class action participants.
That is why it is so important for «Legal Front 24/02» to team up with leading lawyers in Ukraine and Western countries, as this is the only possible way to obtain compensation.
We emphasise that all costs and risks of the litigation are assumed and borne by «Legal Front 24/02», and the relevant amounts will be reimbursed at the expense of future defendants. The damage caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation must be compensated in full to restore justice.

The cooperation between the NGO «24 FEBRUARY», GRECO Law Company and the Mariupol City Council was agreed upon to restore and protect the rights and interests of victims of the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and its population.
Within the framework of the project «Legal Front 24/02» the Mariupol municipality provided an opportunity for lawyers to work in «YaMariupol» centres.
The first pilot project was launched in Dnipro to implement the Mariupol Justice programme. Through the institution of the class action lawsuit, Mariupol residents could receive appropriate compensation.
The information of the affected persons is being collected, assessed and the damage caused to Mariupol residents is being documented.
A database of applications from Mariupol residents is being prepared for a class action lawsuit and its submission to the court.
The aim of the joint project «Legal Front 24/02» is to protect the interests of the affected persons through the Ukrainian courts, and to seize the assets of the Russian Federation, state corporations, Russian oligarchs, propagandists, and companies involved in the armed aggression on an international level.
